Railmaps & Train times

This page shows a detailed map of the Airedale route, together with links to web sites related to the area the railway serves. We hope that this, and the links to other maps below, will help those not familiar with with the Aire Valley, or who are using our trains for the first time.

Travelling in West Yorkshire?

- Download the Metro area rail network map here.

Looking to travel further afield in the UK and not sure where the trains go to?

- the Northern Rail network map is available for download here, while the Association of Train Operating Companies' (ATOC) Natonal Rail route map can be downloaded here.

For further maps and information from the ATOC website covering other areas of the country click here.

Want to know when to travel?

- The Airedale line timetable produced by Metro can be downloaded from our site here in pdf format. If you are travelling further afield within West Yorkshire, you can also download the all line Metro timetable here.

Northern Rail's timetables for its network (you only need to know which station, not what route you are on) can be downloaded here.

If you know where you are travelling from and to, and roughly when you want to travel, the National Rail web site allows you to plan a journey and see what the fare will be, here. The same site allows you to monitor the progress of any specific train (click here) as it calls at each station, thus you can tell whether, for example, Aunt Augusta's train from Brighton is late and what time you need to be at the station to avoid being hit by the handbag! Equally, if someone blames their late arrival on the train, you can check out the veracity of the excuse at that link.
